PARKER MEEKS

Chief Executive Officer

  • Hyzon CEO Parker Meeks leads strategic planning, execution, and management of the company’s global operations as it works toward decarbonizing the future of transport with leading-edge hydrogen fuel cell technology. He is a proven leader with wide-ranging experience spanning throughout traditional energy, the decarbonization and energy transition, infrastructure, finance, and transportation.

    Prior to Hyzon, Meeks was a partner with McKinsey & Company, where he was a global leader in the company’s energy, capital productivity, and infrastructure practices, and managing partner of McKinsey’s Houston office. Other positions included full P&L responsibility for TRC Companies, a design and construction management firm with extensive work in the infrastructure, water resources, and energy transition/climate change markets. He received his MBA at Rice University, and his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering at Columbia University.



DR. BAPPA BANERJEE

Chief Operating Officer

  • Bappa leads Hyzon’s global operations, manufacturing, engineering, commercial and end-to-end supply chain, ensuring delivery of high-quality fuel cell products to customers. Working with senior leadership around the world, he develops and provides strategic direction for Hyzon’s continued growth and successful execution.

    A seasoned expert in the heavy mobility and manufacturing industries, Dr. Banerjee has more than two decades of experience leading operations, engineering, and commercial functions for global companies including GE Transportation, a Wabtec Company, and Caterpillar. Throughout his career Dr. Banerjee has held full profit and loss responsibilities at multi-billion dollar top-line businesses, and demonstrated a proven track record of growing sales across international markets while reducing costs through the implementation of Lean Manufacturing processes.

    Prior to Hyzon, Bappa served as Vice President, Mining Equipment at GE Transportation, a Wabtec Company, where he led the new technology development, design, production, and sale of electric drive propulsion systems for mining equipment. Previously, Bappa held progressing roles at Caterpillar in the Resource Industries Division. Bappa has taught as a Visiting Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University and at Bradley University, holds two U.S. patents and wrote a textbook in mechanics.

STEPHEN WEILAND

Chief Financial Officer



  • Stephen is responsible for overseeing Hyzon’s financial operations, including financial planning and analysis, accounting, treasury, investor relations, and IT. He brings two decades of experience that include leading financial operations as CFO, driving diverse growth capital programs, executing transactions in the cleantech sector, and implementing critical financial processes.

    Most recently, Steve was the CFO of Boom Supersonic, a growth company developing a supersonic commercial airliner. Prior to that, Steve worked at Caterpillar as a CFO for several global divisions including manufacturing, engineering, digital, and procurement. He originally joined Caterpillar’s Corporate Development team following work as an investment banker after starting his career in public audit as a CPA.

DR. CHRISTIAN MOHRDIECK

Chief Technology Officer & Interim Managing Director, Europe

  • Christian leads Hyzon’s fuel cell technology development and commercialization, from scaling the company’s manufacturing capabilities to advancing Hyzon’s Intellectual Property portfolio through research and development. Christian also serves as interim Managing Director for Hyzon Europe.

    Christian’s career has centered around fuel cell technology development and he has been instrumental in forming today’s hydrogen fuel cell landscape. During more than three decades at Daimler AG and DaimlerChrysler, Christian supported, developed, and led the companies’ fuel cell program, forming the foundation of cellcentric.

    His prior roles include Chief Commercial Officer of cellcentric GmbH & Co. KG, a joint venture between Daimler Truck AG and the Volvo Group AB, and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Mercedes-Benz Fuel Cell GmbH, before it merged into Daimler Truck Fuel Cell GmbH & Co. KG and then cellcentric.

SUE SUN-LASOVAGE

Chief Human Resources Officer

  • Sue Sun-LaSovage is a seasoned human resources leader with over two decades of international experience in organizational development, employee engagement, and HR strategy. As Chief Human Resources Officer at Hyzon, Sue leads the global human resources team, overseeing recruitment, management, learning, and development in support of the company’s overall growth.

    Throughout her career, Sue has demonstrated a strong ability to build world-class teams and drive organizational excellence. She has held prominent HR leadership roles in automotive and manufacturing companies across the United States, China, and Singapore, including VIA Motors, an electric vehicle startup OEM, and SRG Global, a leading automotive products and manufacturing company.

    While at VIA Motors, Sue created and executed a people strategy that helped the start-up build its organizational structure. Sue was also critical in defining and driving the company’s culture from the ground up. At SRG Global, she served as the Global Vice President of Human Resources, overseeing sixty global HR employees and supporting over six thousand global employees across multiple manufacturing sites.

JOHN ZAVOLI

General Counsel & Chief Legal Officer

  • John serves as Hyzon’s principal attorney and legal adviser.

    Before Hyzon, John served as general counsel for Karma Automotive, where he was responsible for all of the company’s legal matters. Prior to that, John was senior vice president and senior corporate counsel for Conduent, a digital platforms provider for businesses and governments. Previously, he served in senior legal and financial roles in several venture-backed and public entities, and he was a partner in PwC’s Boston and San Jose offices.

    John is licensed to practice law in California, Illinois, and New Hampshire.

JIAJIA WU
Senior Vice President, Finance and Accounting


  • Jiajia oversees Hyzon’s financial accounts, cost controls, and other financial reporting and auditing efforts. She works across functions on financial operations and analyzes how business decisions will impact the company’s goal of a decarbonized future.

    Most recently, Jiajia served as global director, technical and cost accounting and financial reporting, for UL, LLC, a global safety company that provides testing, inspection, certification, and management services in more than 100 countries. Prior to that, Jiajia served as senior manager with EY, a global firm that offers assurance, consulting, strategic advice, and tax services.

JOHN EDGLEY

Managing Director, Hyzon Australia

  • John brings more than 20 years of global experience in operations, business development, investment, and sustainability to Hyzon. John oversees and manages operations in Australia and New Zealand, and leads the company’s global heavy-duty cabover truck program.

    In his role, John oversaw the construction of Australia’s first domestic assembly facility for fuel cell electric trucks and the development of Hyzon’s Heavy Rigid program. He also led the first ISO-certification of a Hyzon operation.

    Previously, John served as chief investment officer for SHL Global, a multinational conglomerate with operations in water and wastewater treatment, marine construction, and diversified portfolio investment. Previously, he was a director for Karora Living, a private equity company with an emphasis on new business creation, strategic planning, and construction; and managing director for LRS Health, a leading developer of management, billing, and communication software for the health care industry.

STEPHANIE J MUDGETT

Head of Global Communications & Branding

  • Stephanie Mudgett, Hyzon's Head of Global Communications and Branding has been bringing her energy, critical thinking and innovative ideas to crisis, corporate and executive communications for more than 30 years. The Seattle native has extensive experience working with Fortune 50 brands, C-suite executives, technology companies and venture capitalists. Her other areas of specialties include media relations, reputation management, labor relations, government affairs, M&As, SPACs, employee communications, writing, marketing, digital media, video production and philanthropy. Stephanie, who spent the majority of her career in the aviation industry and at The Boeing Company, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in broadcast journalism from Western Washington University in Bellingham, Wash., and advanced studies at Cornell University.
