How is hydrogen produced?

From the water we drink to the waste we throw out, hydrogen makes up 75% of all mass in the universe. It is in the water we drink, example, even in our trash. The U.S. makes more than 10 million metric tons of hydrogen annually.

So what makes it difficult to access clean hydrogen for fuel? To isolate hydrogen to use as fuel, it needs to be extracted from the material it is found in. This requires energy, which can be produced from renewable or non-renewable resources, such as solar, wind, or fossil fuels. At Hyzon, we prioritize hydrogen produced from renewable resources in our drive to #NetZero.
